Our Club

Bottesford Bowls Club was first established in 1922.The club was originally known as The Rectory Bowls Club and based on the Rectory lawn in the village. With encouragement from the local vicar, Reverend. Frank Walford, the club moved to it's present site on Belvoir Road in  1944. It was opened in 1945 with 30 members.

The  club  now  plays  in  5  leagues  and is

registered  with  Nottinghamshire   County

English  Bowling  Federation.  This allows

members  to  play  in  club  and  individual

competitions.

Bottesford Bowls Club members celebrated

their centenary  year in  2022  and also  had

numerous  successes  on  the green and in  a

special National Match.

In the centenary year, members contributed

to the  magnificent haul of  23 trophies,  of

which  2  were  county  club championship

trophies.

The others were individual trophies which allowed the players to represent Nottinghamshire in the national finals against county champions from the 12 other counties.

The club now has over 90 members and has put Bottesford Bowls Club firmly on the national bowling map.

Over the years it has established itself in the Vale of Belvoir League and also the Nottinghamshire County League as a front runner and a great place to play bowls. The season runs from May to September. The Club has what is widely renowned as the best Bowls Green in a 50 mile radius.
